Real Estate Riches - Dolf De Roos [Review]

Real Estate Riches: How to Become Rich Using Your Banker's MoneyFor those wanting a simple to read, fun and insightful book on property/real estate, look no further than Real Estate Riches by Dolf De Roos. This book contains everything that you could possibly need to start investing in the ultimate income vehicle. The book makes a powerful case for investing in property and explains why the sheer leverage that you can get by getting banks to put up a huge percentage of the money makes it better than any other investment you can think of, and I personally agree.

All the main questions you would ask if you wanted to start is covered; questions such as, ‘How do I analyse whether it’s a good property’, ‘how many properties would I need to look at’, ‘how do I find the money’, ‘how do I write the adverts’ etc

The balance sheet is another part of the financial statement which is wonderful for a business owner or investor because it allows them to very quickly assess the financial health of the company, which helps them to make their buying or investment decision. It can be very confusing but it’s really quite simple once you understand it. Let’s get stuck in!

Networking 101: How To Network!

I’m sure you’ve all heard the statement “you are the company you keep. Now much older and on the journey to yell0brickrd, I’ve realized that the good old parents may have had a point! Surrounding yourself with the right people is essential for success. Doing so propels you towards your dreams much quicker. So how do you do it? By learning how to network!

To test the theory, take a moment to estimate the annual income of the 5 people you currently spend most of your time with. Add it all and divide it by 5. Now divide that by 12. You’ll find that this figure won’t be far off what you see in your bank on average monthly.

What is networking?

Networking is all about getting yourself in the places where like minded people populate. I found that it’s really important to seek out people who are on the same path as you, or who have achieved what you are trying to. When I first started out, I was nervous

Hot Commodities - Jim Rogers [Review]

If you want information about why and how commodities can provide excellent returns, I recommend you check out Hot Commodities. As a premise, Jim Rogers was one of the co-founders of the ‘Quantum Fund’ a hedge fund which ultimately returned 2400%. He is now the chairman of Rogers Holdings and is one of the most successful investors of our time.

This book will definitely increase your knowledge. Rogers explores the fundamentals of various commodities and explains some of the factors that cause them to rise and fall. He provides a lesson on oil and how it exploration is becoming difficult and provides some information on alternative energy sources that we may be utilizing use in the future.

He speaks about gold and its value, and explains the reasons why investors park their money here. I learnt a hell of a lot about gold from this book, originally believing that it was a monetary metal only. It turns out that isn’t the case. In other chapters he also goes into detail about how and why china is fast becoming an economic superpower and provides a wealth of information regarding other commodities such as lead, sugar and coffee.

How To Stretch Your Paycheck

Are you fed up of receiving your pay check, only to see the money completely gone before you have a chance to blink? How frustrating is it when your salary disappears so quickly that you have to struggle on for the last few weeks or days before you get paid again, only for the process to repeat itself?

Just before I decided to get serious about accumulating wealth my situation was exactly the same. My pay check simply didn’t stretch. Weeks before the end of the month areas of life would come to a standstill, simply because there was no income to do anything. After paying off all my bills the rest of the money would somehow evaporate and I would be left broke!

Nowadays however that is no longer a problem. Any flow of income that comes in effortlessly stretches until the next inflow comes through. So how do I achieve it?

Richard Reed On: 'INNOCENT'

One group of entrepreneurs whose success I have admired for a long time are the 3 founders of Innocent Smoothies. This is an interview by ‘Tigrent Learning UK’ with Richard Reed, one of the co-founders of the company.

Their business model has seen them expand from smoothies to Innocent food and, most recently, Innocent vitamins. I love the way they continue to expand their business and thereby their profitability and sustainability within the marketplace.

Their passion for providing healthy food and drink devoid of E numbers and other crazy chemicals, coupled with their commitment to giving to charity makes them a wonderful company to learn more about business from.

If you really want to learn more about their sheer determination to come to market, the rejection of 20 banks and various VC groups for funding etc, I recommend you check out their book, one that I will give a comprehensive review on soon!

Enjoy!

How Long Should You Hold Onto Commodities?

In a previous post, I mentioned that commodities are an absolute must have in terms of investing in them to maintain the value of your money at the very least, and to profit massively from them during periods of turmoil, such as currently is the case in Libya for example. The question remains however, when commodity prices have risen, when do you sell them?

The thwarting of oil production means that for those of us putting petrol in our cars,

This is part 2 of the financial statement series. You can read part 1 HERE

In this post, I will be discussing how to read a cashflow statement in conjunction with the other financial statements in order to get a clear picture of how well a company is performing.

The cashflow statement is an interesting document to keep an eye on, as it tracks cash flowing in and out of the business at a specific point in time. Because the availability and flow of cash is the most important thing to a business or investment,

How High Will Silver Prices Go?

This is a video interviewing the founder of www.goldmoney.com . He speaks about where he believes gold and more specifically, silver, is headed and goes into detail about how we can position ourselves to take advantage of a bull market that is set to continue to increase silver prices.

I started off my yell0brickrd journey investing in silver when it was $26 and now, at the time of writing it has increased to $34. Experts believe that prices still have the potential to rise, at least in this video, to at least $400 due to indicators that anybody can keep a close eye on. Check out this video. Comments welcome!
